Hmm... He used the term "boy" when she was his counsellor/volunteer in the orphanage - guess the age difference.
Romeo also talked about his experience filming The Journey 2 in Malaysia.
When I talked about Chris Tong and Romeo Tan being casted as a couple in Good Luck in my previous post, I mentioned that I wasn't sure if there is much age difference in the May-December couple relationship. Apparently, in Romeo's imaging interview with Xinmsn, he disclosed that his character, Liu Xuan, was an introvert boy that grew up in an orphanage until he met an angel like volunteer, Lin Shi Hui (Chris). When the two reunite as adult, he started chasing her due to a commitment that he made when he was a boy. Hmm... He used the term "boy" when she was his counsellor/volunteer in the orphanage - guess the age difference. Romeo also talked about his experience filming The Journey 2 in Malaysia. I hope the stylist will realize that Romeo looks better with his fringe down.

I'm not sure whether I should quote the word "EXCLUSIVE" from Toggle; cause the last I checked, Episode 1&2 are also available on Xin-First. Toggle users can just watch the whole series (13-epi) from Toggle. Here's a review from Xinmsn. P.S. Do you know the ending theme song were sung by Romeo Tan & Sheila Sim?
This would be the 3rd collaboration between Chris & Romeo after they played a May-December couple (with 7-8 years age difference) in 96 Cafe, and mother-and-son in upcoming Blockbuster drama, The Journey 2. Chris is known for pairing up with older males like Tay Ping Hui, Terence Cao and Thomas Ong, but in actual fact, Chris (31) is only 2 years older than Romeo (29). They again portray the younger-husband- older-wife in Good Luck (百岁大吉), though it wasn't specified how big is the age difference. Chris shares a witty text-conversation with Romeo: "Please stop calling me mother, please call me goddess!" and the latter cheekily replied " you are still my mother" About Shihui & Liu Xuan...Shihui (Chris Tong) has always been an independent, and a sensible girl who does not give trouble to her parents. An outstanding student both in conduct and studies, she joins the working world as an independent-thinking, modern woman. Opinionated and capable, she is savvy in seizing opportunities. She is employed in an auditor’s firm. Her excellent performance earns the boss’ trust. Shihui resents her father’s overbearing ways, which strains the relationship between father and daughter. Yunxiu constantly pesters Shihui to tie the knot, fearing that she will pass a marriageable age. This forces Shihui more than ever to evade the question. But all that changes when she meets Liu Xuan (Romeo Tan). Liu Xuan is good looking and charming, with an air of maturity. He can strike up a conversation with anyone and projects a mature demeanor. However, he is a boy at heart, and occasionally behaves in a way that raises eyebrows. Despite holding a Masters in Philosophy, he does not pursue fame and fortune. Full of passionate ideals, he gives up a well-paying job as a lecturer in an academy to teach in a Special Education school, helping children with learning disabilities. Liu Xuan meets Shihui and he finds out that she is a former volunteer at an orphanage. Deciding that she is the only girl he will ever marry, Liu Xuan woos her aggressively. In no time, Shihui and the younger Liu Xuan get together. Xiaohe vehemently opposes the relationship. The rebellious Shihui throws caution to the wind and enters into a “lightning” marriage with Liu Xuan. In marriage, both begin to notice each other’s differences. Shihui is subsequently awakened to the fact that the marriage is unstable and holding on to it tightly will only hurt both parties. In the end, she decides to part with Liu Xuan. But after the separation, both of them discover that they are unable to forget each other. Good Luck premiers 2nd February 2015, after You Can Be An Angel Too. Bonus: Romeo's abs at 18:55 (since I can't find a decent photo of them together)The Journey 2: Tumultuous Times (信约:动荡的年代) has launched its official homepage on Xinmsn. Blockbusters usually gets a pretty detailed homepage, do check it out for more behind the scene photos and their pre-production interviews. Tumultuous Times premiers 24 November 2014. Comments: Seems like there are a lot of politics involved in this drama, hope it doesn't get boring... I counted a total of 3-love-triangles: (Jeanette>Romeo>Felicia), (Romeo>Felicia>Andie)& (Carrie>Shaun>Jeanette) okay, lemme re-arrange: Carrie carries a torch for Shaun, who carries a torch for Jeanette, who marries Romeo, who carries a torch for Felicia, who loves Andie. confused? Main Casts profile:Hu Jia (originally called Zhang Jia), is an optimistic, loyal, street-smart and cunning child, is Tianying’s and Huiniang’s son. Not long after his parents passed away, he also got separated from his sister during a gang chase. Hu Jia (Shaun Chen) later stayed with Hu Weiren, hoping to avenge his father’s death. With Hu Weiren, he learnt many unorthodox tricks and became involved in secret societies and triads. He later became one of the leaders of a street gang, with loyal underlings. Although he is childhood sweethearts with Tang Shui Mei, his true love is actually Hong Ming Hui. Zhang Yan (Romeo Tan), a smart boy who always aced his studies, is the son of Tianpeng and Mingzhu. He is very self-confident, sometimes to the extent of sounding arrogant. He studied law in England, with the ambition of going into politics when he comes back to Singapore. He eventually joined Lim Yew Hock’s government and held an important post. However, his arrogance led him astray. To fulfil his aims, he would resort to extreme means and he also fell out with his brother Hong Dang Yong. Zhang Yan loves Ming Hui, whom he grew up with, but his true love is actually Zhang Min. However, as Zhang Min is his cousin, though not related by blood, he is hesitant to confess his feelings. He eventually married Ming Hui, though it ended up as a rocky marriage. Hong Dang Yong (Andie Chen), a handsome and energetic young man, is the eldest son of Hong Shi and Ya Zi. Idealistic by nature, he is deeply concerned with revolutionist ideas, and eventually joined the leftist in their fight for the country’s independence. The rivalry between Zhang Yan and him intensified when, apart from having different ideals, the two fell out over Zhang Min. Dangyong even plotted to assassinate the latter. After his arrest, he realized his mistakes and worked hard to get a law degree. He also eventually believed in a meritocratic society, where hard work is rewarded. He is childhood sweethearts with Zhang Min, and they got married despite several obstacles. Ming Hui (Jeanette Aw), a nurse, is Dang Yong’s younger sister. Although she looks frail, she has a strong personality and her perseverance does not pale in comparison to men. Everyone thinks that she and Zhang Yan are a match made in Heaven, but she discovered Zhang Yan’s true nature after marriage, and was estranged from him. She only kept up with the marriage so as to not worry her parents. Zhang Min (Felicia Chin),a simple and pure girl, is a Mandarin teacher at a Chinese school. She blames herself greatly for being separated from her younger brother Zhang Jia (Hu Jia) when she was young. As she grew up with Dangyong, she share his ideals and participated actively in student protests. Though Zhang Yan carries a torch for her, she remains steadfast to Dangyong even when he was on the run. Bai Lan Xiang (Carrie Wong), more common known as Tang Shui Mei (糖水妹), has a tough personality and fiery temper despite her sweet looks. Although she is just a street vendor, she has many suitors asking for her hand, whom she all rejected, as she only has one man in mind – Hu Jia. Even though she often bickers with Hu Jia, she shares a strong bond with him.
Casts from Season 1:
About Tumultuous Times...In the wee hours of the morning on 8 Dec 1941, Japanese planes attacked Singapore by air under the cloak of the night. This is the beginning of the period of unrest in Singapore. With the death of Tianying and Huiniang during the Japanese occupation, Zhang Min and Zhang Jia planned to go to Ipoh to seek shelter at Hong Shi’s and his wife Yazi’s place. En route to Ipoh however, Zhang Min and Zhang Jia were separated and the latter was severely wounded. After being rescued by Hu Weiren, Zhang Jia acknowledged the latter as his father, with hope of seeking revenge for his father’s death. Growing up by Hu Weiren’s side, the intelligent and agile Hu Jia learnt much about triads and shady dealings, and came into his own within a matter of years. Anti-colonialism sentiments were high after World War II. Zhang Yan and Dangyong, who were once close as brothers, drifted apart as both had different opinions on how Singapore should achieve independence. Dangyong joined the leftists, while Zhang Yan on the other hand, chose to join Lim Yew Hock’s government, seeking to wrestle for political power in a peaceful manner. As Zhang Yan scaled the political ladder, he began to lose himself, starting to make merry with the powers that be, engaging in debauchery and taking bribes on the side. He was also in charge of revoking the license of the Association of Secondary Schools and taking action against students in Sep 1956. This pit Zhang Yan face-to-face against Dangyong and Hu Jia, and the tense situation is about to erupt any minute… Photo Gallery:Screencap doesn't come easy; please do not take it out of this site without proper creds. Mystic Whispers (听) is a 13-episode (30-mins) Toggle original drama series, and will be free to watch from 16 September 2014 for all Toggle users. Though Mystic Whisper is a horror-themed drama, I'm expecting Comedy > Horror judging from the tone of the trailer and Romeo's less than serious acting. The horromedy (Horror + Comedy) is only rated PG-13 in the trailers. Executive Producer (cum director) Leong Lye Lin casted her Sudden (骤变) leading man, Romeo Tan, and best supporting actor (dog), Flapper. I’m not sure what “role” Flapper will be playing but Romeo and Lye Lin seemed to share a good working relationship as seen from Sudden's behind the scene clips and their thank you speeches for Star Awards 20 Top 10 Male Artiste and Best Director respectively. This would be model-actress Sheila Sim’s 3rd drama role after a decade of modelling career. She will also be starring in the 190-episode drama, 118, and medical drama, You Can Be Angel Too next year. Plot: The story follows Mo Xiao Yun (Sheila Sim), who began hearing strange noises after she was involved in a car accident. She meets Zhang Ji’en (Romeo Tan), a famous mortician & part time exorcist (who is actually a fake). However, as long as they are together (presuming having physical contact), they can see “ghosts”. Both Xiao Yun and Ji’en work together to “listen” to the stories of the ghosts and help “them” solve their problems or last wishes. Toggle has already launched a Mystic Whispers Extras on their site/app. For the overseas fans who do not have access to Toggle, I’ll be doing a summary + screencaps for the 3 Extras since there is a high chance that they won’t be showing on TV. I’m not sure if Mediacorp plans to broadcast this 13-episode series on TV; but right now, I can’t confirm if I’ll be doing a summary for the actual episodes since it’s time consuming for me. Extra 1: 2-mins trailerThere are 7 stories covered in this 13-epi series. We are introduced to Ji’en cheeky personality as he portrays a fake exorcist and Xiao Yun with her ability to see ghost. Supporting casts are played by Yuan Shuai, a ghost who died as a workaholic, “一大粒” Michelle Tay, an obese ghost who wants to go on a diet - and threatens to possess Xiao Yun if her dieting plan fails (you want to go on a diet even when you are a ghost?), and a female ghost played by Seraph Sun. We then see the growing romance between the leads as the background music change from creepy to sweet. He promised that as long as he holds her hand, he will protect her from the ghost and car accident (does the accident happens often that you need to make this promise?). However, Ji’en seemed to be hiding something from her. Extra 2: Zhang Ji’en inner thoughtJi’en reveals the reason why he wants to “catch ghost” Then we are introduced another ghost (Aloy Pang) who was ridiculously killed by a falling desktop. He doesn't talk to his parents; instead, he uses Whatsapp to communicate with them as he is addicted to smartphone. Zhang Ji’en past. Before his ghost career, he was a top salesman selling cosmetics. He defended himself by saying most makeup artists are males, so there nothing wrong with a man selling cosmetic products. funny. Ji’en: You think there is another reason for me to help those ghost? Then we saw Ji’en sobbing like a baby after doing make up for a female corpse (Seraph Sun). Ex-gf maybe? No details given for this ghost. Ji'en: is there any secret between Xiao Yun and I? She doesn’t… but I do. hmm... do you have anything to do with her car accident?? Something going on between you two? Xiao Yun looks disappointed at his response... Ji'en calls Xiao Yun bamboo pole (read: tek-ko in Hokkien) Extra 3: Xiao Yun’s inner thought Xiao Yun coyly says that she thinks Ji'en likes her when asked if there is anything going on between them. I'm gonna make a daring guess that Xiao Yun is gonna fall for Ji'en first. When asked the same question in chapter 2, Ji'en's reply makes me think that he has a motive for staying close to Xiao Yun. i.e. making use Xiao Yun's supernatural power to see ghost in order to make money. Extra 2 may also suggest that Ji'en might have something to do with Xiao Yun's car accident. But Xiao Yun feels that Ji’en is avoiding her as he would suddenly disappear, this was confirmed by the sudden appearance of Seraph ghost but she doesn’t reveal the real reason. Xiao Yun’s past. LOL, is she making a dig at her own occupation? But after that car accident… She blamed Ji'en that she couldn't become a model. Someone else is unhappy that she has a great figure. We are introduced to obese ghost who died chocking on chocolate balls… The end~
