Extracts of the press-con segment can be found in various interview from Xinmsn & Toggle Tap.
Against the Tide held a press conference on 19 Sept, followed by a roadshow on 20 Sept. It was one of the biggest (one)-drama roadshow as it was attended by all 8 regular casts (Chris Lee, Rui En, Desmond Tan, Carrie Wong, Xu Bin, Zheng Ge Ping, Zhang Zhen Huan & Paige Chua) and 4 of the "story" casts (Shane Pow, Yuan Shuai, James Seah, Bonnie Loo). This was the first drama roadshow that Chris attended after filming in Taiwan for the past 2 years and we all knew Rui En hardly attended any drama roadshows. I was actually waiting for Today Online to post the press conference segment on their Youtube Channel, but I guess they only decided to release an interview of the casts doing a voting of "Who is most likely a psycho amongst the casts?" Disappointed, but at least we get to see the fun side of Rui En; and her friendship with Carrie. Extracts of the press-con segment can be found in various interview from Xinmsn & Toggle Tap. Photos from Toggle FB Another reason for delay is Channel 8's efficiency in uploading those photos taken during the roadshows to their Facebook page. The photos turned out disappointing (especially after the long wait) but we can really count on those Fan-clubs and Fans who took higher-definition photos and uploading them timely.

Here's a list of the airing dates (subjected to changes) for the upcoming dramas:
Wrapped/ Soon-to-wrap Drama(s)Apparently, the March-drama (Life is Beautiful) has concluded their filming as the casts (minus Rui En) and crews attended the wrap-party that was organised last week. Many actors (and actresses) has also wrapped their scenes for Jan-drama, You Can Be An Angel Too, like Rebecca, Bryan, Zheng Ge Ping, Zoe Tay, Xiang Yun and Aloy Pang as seen from their Instagram posts. After 4 months of intense filming, the casts and crews of The Journey 2 has wrapped their scenes in Malaysia. Other than newbie actress, Carrie Wong, who has wrapped her final scenes in Singapore, her Instagram post indicates that the other casts has few more days to go. Not-yet-startedThere are no news regarding the filming of Feb-drama (Good Luck) after the imaging sessions. Filming-in-progress Drama3 Wishes, stated to air after Against the Tide, is currently filming in progress. This is no surprise since Wawa Production usually has 2-3 rounds of filming (filming-short break-filming) as their scripts are produced simultaneously while they are filming. (YAY! to filming in episode-sequence. BUT Note: Not to be confused with 118, where filming and telecast are 2 weeks apart) 3 Wishes is still considered a drama that is produced prior to airing date. It's just that post-production (editing) doesn't take a long time as Wawa is an independent company, thus, starting (and ending) the game late.
Oh, yes. That's Hayley Woo (beside Shane Pow in the 1st photo above), twin of Mediacorp actress Jayley Woo. She'll be portraying Pow's girlfriend in the drama. Against the Tide (逆潮) released its 1st heart-pounding trailer and boy, it looks exciting! Quoting a sentence from the trailer:- Di Shen (Chris Lee): When you were describing the murder scenes a while ago, it felt as though you became the murderer." Comment: Qiu Xue Qing (Rui En) may not be as angelic as it was given to us in the profiles or maybe the scenes were referring to Xue Qing's supernatural power where she can feel her patients (the murderer) through hypnotism. Updated (19/09/14) English Trailer: Characters description from Toggle Now App:
Against the Tide (逆潮) drops 2nd teaser featuring Christopher Lee. I can't hear well enough to translate what Chris is saying due to the sound effect and noisy background. But basically the difference between this and Rui En's teaser is the caption: Rui En's 人性本善? translates to: people are born good (humanity) vs Chris' 人性本恶? translates to: people are born evil (humanity)
Chris plays Di Shen, a suspense (novel) writer. Jianfeng (Desmond Tan) uncovers clues that implicate Di Shen in the case. Di Shen also realises that the suspect has enacted the plot of his novel which raises the possibility that he is a fan of his work. To prove his innocence and satisfy his own curiosity, Di Shen gets involved in the case to identify the suspect. Click HERE for the detailed synopsis. Xinmsn just launched an official home page for Against the Tide. Check out the drama stills (photo) released. Against the Tide (逆潮)drops 1st teaser featuring Rui En. Brief translation: “Everything happens for a reason… For every crime, there is a motive… Greed? Or hatred? Perhaps… It all boils down to (a person’s) humanity…” Against The Tide is a psychological thriller written by local screenwriter Peng Kai Yi(Unriddle 1 & 2, Metamorphosis) which explores the struggles and darkness of humanity. Debuts on 24th September 2014 after Spice Up. Rui En plays Qiu Xueqing (Dr Snow), a psychologist. Ever since she was a child, Xueqing has the innate ability to feel someone’s mood, so she makes use of hypnosis to her patients’ sub-conscious state. She can also penetrate the criminal’s psyche at the crime scene to reconstruct his trail. Her special ability helps to speed up investigations for Di Shen (Christopher Lee) and Jianfeng (Desmond Tan). As the investigations progress, feelings develops between Xueqing and Di Shen and they become a couple. Jianfeng, who hides his love for Xueqing, is heartbroken. But what disgusts him is Xueqing’s continual trust in Di Shen, despite all evidence pointing to him as the suspect. Jianfeng does not want Xueqing to be deceived, so he is determined to expose Di Shen’s secret. Click HERE for the detailed synopsis. |
